Hi all, I am coming to the conclusion that the Google Static Maps API is not appropriate for use on a Facebook wall (at least not without a Google Premier Licence).
What I believe is happening is that Facebook is caching images into its own Content Delivery Network (links on your wall go to platform.ak.fbcdn.net). This implies that Facebook must retrieve the image - presumably from a Facebook domain. Which means that the Facebook domain would very quickly go over the 1000 queries/user/day limit. Given that Facebook and Google are heavily competing this is not going to be fixed any time soon. So: any comments to this? Am I wrong? Web searches seem to indicate similar problems. Is there any way to get a Google Premier Licence on a pay as you go basis? Cheers, Edward -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Maps API V2" group.
