I think you have your comment marker in the wrong place:

IE prior to IE9 takes exception to commas immediately before } --
which is what happens with your comment in the place it is at present.
Commas in IE don't finish the previous element; they introduce the
next element, which isn't there. Other browsers have always behaved
better, and it appears that IE9 has finally followed suit.
