This example uses the v3 Maps API (with huge parts of code from a
completly other example of mine).

This example uses the v2 Maps API.

So firstly you should decide which version of the Maps API you really
want to use.

If you want to use tabs to display different maps you'd have to create
maps that are completely independant from each other. You'd have to
trigger the 'resize' event for every map separately when it will be
displayed.
