I am new to using google maps. I am currently using javascript API v3
to geocode addresses. Everything seems to work fine except for the
OVER_QUERY_LIMIT. From what I have read, I am geocoding too fast and
need to put a delay between requests. I have tried this but can't
seem to find the right place for the delay. I am using the following
code to geocode the address:

if (geocoder) {
      geocoder.geocode( { 'address': address}, function(results,
status) {
        if (status == google.maps.GeocoderStatus.OK) {
          map.setCenter(results[0].geometry.location);
          var contentString = '<font face=arial size=1>' + address +
'<br>' + infotext + '</font>';
var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({
                  content: contentString
                  });
          var marker = new google.maps.Marker({
              map: map,
              position: results[0].geometry.location,
                          title: address
          });
                  google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function() {
              infowindow.open(map,marker);
          });
        } else {
            alert("Geocode was not successful for the following
reason: " + status);
        }
      });
    }
  }
