Hey all,

I'm kinda new to all this but here is the project I wish to work on.

Imagine you're a curious person, interested in History for example, and
you're on Google Maps (or on a dedicated website using Google Maps), I would
like to create a layer for the map that would allow the user to click on
every single street, metro station and so forth, a see a little boxed text
explaining where the name of the street/metro station/etc. comes from.

I understand that would require quite some research on my end but I'm
curious about the best way to implement that. Should I create lines covering
every single street or is there an easier way? I tried creating objects on
Google Maps itself using "My Maps" which allows me to make lines along
streets easily but not only is the app not really convenient to use but I
cannot make categories or groups of objects that I could hide or display
together ("streets", "boulevards", "metro station", etc.).

What would you guys suggest I use to do all that?

Best,
