Thanks Esa. I should say 1,000,000 m which is the defined width of on UTM zone. However if the answers to both my questiosn are yes, I should be able to do whatever mapping I want, right? I know I could do as Nianwei did in the demo code (which i may end up with doing as my tests showed there may be problems with low zoom level). I want to try to use some perticalar resolutions and scales. So it will simplify the calculation if I can really (freely and completely) customize the projection.
