The directions limit is per client IP address. So if you do get the directions, in the webpage via javascript, then *each* of your visitors gets 2500 requests.
(Its not exact, because, many people share IP address (proxies, NATs etc) - but still its not a limit you should generally have to worry about) - The limit you might have to worry about is the 25,000 total transactions, that is per domain. So that is global to all your visitors. But to worry about that, would need to be getting close to 25,000 daily visitors.
