Seems to be a variation of this thread http://groups.google.com/group/google-maps-js-api-v3/browse_thread/thread/1aa01e863c32d4e4# I got to see your map with a half red / half blue marker i.e. the icon was different where it was split on a tile boundary. I think this is a KmlLayer rendering problem, and you won't be able to circumvent it yourself, but do make sure your icon images are hosted on a fast server.
