I'm not sure what you are asking. Authentication credentials grant access to
do anything, but if you're talking about website users you could still make
the requests while authenticated as yourself, but just not let your users
send things like delete requests...

Alternatively, a lot of information can still be retrieved from the API
without logging in. Unlisted albums can be viewed if you have the authkey
from the URL.
