Thanks for your quick reply. I did try adding "?imgmax=d" to the URL I got, 
but that gave me a 404. Using a value did brink up the picture, so the link 
looks OK.

What I did try next (after examining some HTTP traffic) was adding "/d/" 
before the filename. This seems to do the trick. Would this also be a valid 
way to download the image?
