The object model doesn't even match between c# gdata and python gdata for example. Thus the c# docs are likely useless to everyone other than .net developers.
Also, I find it unlikely that you're going to attract any significant number of the traditional vbscript excel developers doing it this way because it's NONSENSICALLY complicated to get the data from a single cell. Not that I like excel/vba much but seriously. Just *One* line of vba code can access the data from a cell.
