This seems so basic however i can not make it function.
I am trying to fire off a conditional format based on a cell that has both
a number and a letter in it.
I have tried all the basics and searched many forums.
hoping somebody here might have some ideas.

>custom Formula is:
>' =8 & "R"
or ' ="8 R" or ' =sum(8) & "R" etc... etc...
my ultimate goal will look something like this:
'=And(isodd(row()),8 & "R")
however getting the number and text combo is the most important.
again any help is appreciated. thanx in advance.
