Our corporate jabber server is currently having issues establishing an
s2s connection with the gtalk servers. We currently have proper SRV
records and connections to other systems (jabber.ru / jabber.org) work
without issue. I've covered and reviewed and applied the suggested
fixes to found in articles re: workarounds for DNS SRV issues with
eJabber but to no resolution (http://www.ejabberd.im/fix-dns-srv).
Synopsis of the Issue:
User logs into our private server and attempts to add a contact with
@gmail.com in the username. The request makes it through to the Gtalk
client side without issue. Further messages from our server to Gtalk
are relayed properly however the @gmail.com user is always shown as
offline. On the Gtalk side, no message responses or invites make it to
our server. Any attempted messages results in a 503 error. On the flip
side, there's no problems sending and receiving messages from users on
other jabber server (jabber.org / jabber.ru).
Info on the Server & Domain:
OS on the Server is centos4.4 and eJabber has been tested with 1.1.2
and 1.1.4 (as there seems to be a lot of changes to s2s in the last
couple months). The attempted inetrc fix has been applied as well as
the /etc/hosts trick ( with the either lines '209.85.163.125
gmail.com' or '209.85.163.125 gmail.com googlemail.com'). StartTLS has
been enabled & disabled (with and without a self signed cert) also
with no luck. SRV records are as such:
_xmpp-server._tcp.globalrelay.net. 600 IN SRV 5 0 5269 van-
xmpp1.globalrelay.net.
_xmpp-client._tcp.globalrelay.net. 600 IN SRV 5 0 5222 van-
xmpp1.globalrelay.net.
_jabber._tcp.globalrelay.net. 600 IN SRV 5 0 5269 van-
xmpp1.globalrelay.net.
Log Output (output slightly more detailed as I applied a patch to
ejabberd_s2s_in.erl & ejabberd_s2s_out.erl to acquire more detailed
logging).

Any suggestions would be helpful in troubleshooting this as I haven't
been able to find a solution through searching online.
