@Val: - Google haven't formally confirmed that the categories meta tag is working, but I have submitted themes including the tag and they have submitted without error, and been put into the correct category in the directory.
So far I have only used the category "Destinations". I suspect that some of the categories might be for Google's own use, like "Artist Themes", "Games", "Photography". I've no idea whether the categories meta tag automatically makes themes go into the nominated category, or whether there is a manual review by Google. That's the problem with this Group - we are the blind leading the blind! It would be nice if Google could update the Developer's Guide with the latest information, or respond here to questions to which we developers do not have the answers. @Knighterrant: - Once the theme is submitted to Google it is copied once-off onto Google's server. To update the theme you need to re- submit it to Google using the same URL as the original submission. Google then copy the updated theme and overwrite the original on their server. I notice that you have also posted in the Web Search Forum, where you are more likely to get attention, so it will be interesting to see how Google respond there.
