Would Google consider offering Translate as a service able to be called from other web applications and set up a standards group to develop the protocols? I realise Translate is in development but so are a lot of global applications that need to accept information in a range of languages and deliver instant in-line translations. If Translate Google was free and available for converting streams developers need time to build apps that would use it. We can start now. You may be able to monetize Translate but I don't think that is going to deliver income in the long term There are too many opportunities for open source projects as competition.
