It is quite good on single words and n-grams. If I put in "nanny goat" it gives me козочка. Sounds reasonably OK. Point no genders in English. You have to put in words like "nanny".
GT is excellent as a straight dictionary, why can't it feed back when it translates whole passages, or if you "suggest a better translation. One question is козочка or коза.the name of a robot? If I was talking about Afghanistan and "big dog" lit большая собака. большая собака is in fact a form a "special forces". It is used to carry heavy loads. It would also be possible to put offensive weapons on it. http://www.bostondynamics.com/robot_bigdog.html - Ian Parker On Jul 7, 10:18 pm, Andrew Beskrovniy wrote: > Google translator translated the word "SPETZNAZ" (Russian - Спецназ) > - into English as > "Goats".http://translate.google.com/#ru|en|%D1%81%D0%BF%D0%B5%D1%86%D0%BD%D0%B0%D0%B7%0D%0A > screenshothttp://s50.radikal.ru/i130/1007/2b/15c327983f9e.jpg > > but the word "Goats" Google translator translated to Russian > language > as "KOZI" or "KOZLI" (Russian - > Козы)http://translate.google.com/translate_t?hl=&ie=UTF-8&text=Goats&sl=en... > screenshothttp://s51.radikal.ru/i133/1007/16/b42cbf23f736.jpg > > but it word - swearing in Russia (or insulting words) > and above all - this translation - wrong > -word "SPETZNAZ" (Russian - Спецназ) correctly translated into > English > as "Special Force" or "SWAT"! > - "Goats"- is an animal! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
