IIRC Google Translate Web Element, the bit of JavaScript that lets visitors translate my webpages, USED to work fine. I changed nothing. Now it fails locally in a number of browsers.
Avant, Chrome, Flock and Safari all work properly. The other browsers work fine if I view a page on my website, but have trouble if I view a page off my local hard disk. The following browsers won't let me choose a language. In SeaMonkey the box shows up but I cannot select a language. In FireFox it takes 5 seconds for the translate box to show. In Opera, it takes 15 seconds for the translate box to show. In Internet Explorer it taxes 60 seconds for the translate box to show. None of them let me choose a language. You can download my entire website for experimentation at http://mindprod.com/webstart/replicator.html However, I think you should be able to replicate the problems much more easily with your own web pages. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
