You've stumbled across some of the many challenges of machine translation. Our system actually does a fairly good job dealing with these situations most of the time, but you still will frequently find places where formal vs. informal ways of speaking are used improperly by our system. Also, translating idioms, or things like "little terror", that make a lot of sense in English, is difficult, even for human translators, so this is something that's tough for our system too.
