Is there a procedure common to all or most languages for the
application of accent marks to to-be-translated words? I have tried
all of the following, with dismal results:
1.) type the letter of interest, then the accent mark. This results in
translation of the word as a contraction, the accent mark being
recognized as an apostrophe.
2.) Type the accent mark, THEN the letter of interest behind it. Same
results as above.
3.) Type the letter of interest, HIGHLIGHT it using right-click, THEN
apply the accent mark. This obliterates the letter and translates the
word in contracted form ("estas" => "ests") .
4.) Type the accent mark, HIGHLIGHT it using right-click, THEN type
the letter of interest into the highlighted area. This obliterates the
accent mark and translates the word in unaccented form ("estas" =
"these").
The language in which I've tried these procedures is Spanish. The
google translate keyboard lists no accented vowels for use in
constructing words in Spanish.
ANY guidance in making these accent marks easier to apply would be
VERY MUCH appreciated.
