A charaid choir, (Dear Sir/Madam) I have noticed that certain pages written in Scottish Gaelic are identified by Google translate as Irish. Although the two languages share a common root, nowadays they are completely separate languages and are very different from one another. Pages like www.gaelicbooks.org (The Gaelic Books Council), www.cli.org.uk (The organisation for learners of Scottish Gaelic) and www.cnag.org.uk (Gaelic Development Agency) and many, many others are written in Scottish Gaelic and should not be identified as Irish, this mistake is not only misleading to non-Gaelic-speakers, it is also insulting to both Irish and Scottish Gaelic speakers.
Leis gach deagh-dhurachd (Yours sincerely), Kathleen Cronie. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
