Sorry for the late response. There used to be a problem like the one you described, but it was fixed a while ago.Can you send more info or example of what chart you are using, and so on?
Anyway - indeed the way to achieve this goal is to use the refresh interval. And yes, most charts do not have 'lightweight refresh" (yet, I hope).
