1. In annotated time line , point appear once you put the mouse over the corners. 2. That "k" denotes kilo (1000). That is, 10 kilo meter. That is unit of that y-axis. 3. http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/scatterchart.html <http://code.google.com/apis/visualization/documentation/gallery/scatterchart.html>For oly points, for nw you can try the scatter chart...that may solve ur problem...
