I've heard some user complain about a similar issue of no flags when loading the JS api via https. So what I aimed for in my question was to know if you are loading the JS api differently in some way (http vs. https for example) or if the page itself is loaded from file or https unlike the examples which are http. For some reason, these changes may cause the effect of the flags disappearing and I wanted to see if this was the issue you are facing.
