I'm not an expert on the subtleties of GWT event handling. Implementing the MouseOver and MouseOut interfaces sounds like it might be a good idea, and you're welcome to add it to our issue tracker ( http://code.google.com/p/google-visualization-api-issues/issues/list). But I don't understand why your getChart() method doesn't just return a PieChart object.
