There are plenty of website out there that offer "certification" for PHP,
but I don't think any of them are worth the time and money. PHP
certification is only worth something if the person who sees the
certificate trusts the authority who issued it, and as there is no
established authority on PHP, there is no source that can offer something
that will be close to universally accepted as valid. Perhaps getting
certified by the framework you use would be worthwhile (as an example,
Zend<http://www.zend.com/services/certification/>offers PHP and Zend Framework
certification), but I wouldn't be overly
concerned with getting certified even then. Most employers won't look at
certification for PHP and interviewers won't ask about it. If your
employer asks you to get certified, that's one thing, but they will
probably have a specific certification program in mind.
