Hello,

I am a beginner. I have successfully been using Motion Charts (produced as
gadgets) in Google Docs for a number of years. I have been able to configure
the initial state settings simply by using the dialogue and publish these
online.

Google has announced they are deprecating Gadgets and so we must use charts.

I can still create the chart within my Google spreadsheet but am NOT able to
set the initial state with (it seems) having a much more detailed understanding
of code than was previously the case.

I have sought help in the forums and have received guidance, but the knowledge
assumed is beyond me. The "state" settings in charts appears that it needs to
be moved and re-coded somewhat, but this is beyond me at present.

It is not a simple cut and paste as it was with Gadgets.

Is there any published guide or materials I can refer to to help me understand
what I need to do to transition from Gadgets to Charts and how I am going to
re-code the many existing Motion Charts I have online?

Any help appreciated.
