Will your chart have just one column or multiple columns?  If it will have 
multiple columns, is it ok if the lines extend all the way across the 
chart?  If you can use markers instead of lines, will any of these shapes 
<https://developers.google.com/chart/interactive/docs/points> work for you 
(the shapes can be customized to an extent - see the rest of the 
documentation on that page)?
