QUERY determines source data types based on column contents.

There are very simple cases where the data type is incorrectly assumed. As
a result simple query operations return unexpected results.

See "Test Query" in
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1tQLM36K_7VyfzzZLeqLS9Z4tWtAT08OHSMcAcfNCgGA/edit?usp=sharing

Has anyone found a solution/workaround for this?
