The significant inconvenience about VistaFei is its employment of AbsolutePanel as the root panel. Inconvenience is an understated term - having AbsolutePanel as the root panel renders a page practically unuseable and projects a mediocre page behaviour to viewers of the page.
There seems to be no trace of VistaFei development or communication after Jan 2007. Are they still alive? Have they had any progress removing the need of having the location of every widget on a page descending from AbsolutePanel? Perhaps, its a limitation deliberately placed on the free edition only. At the moment the GWT Designer from Instantaneous (or is it Instanteous?) seems a very suitable visual gwt designer. Its not free and requires annual renewal.
