The future of web development does not exist because it changes constantly. 
Choose whatever works for you now as long as its backed by some larger 
company so chances are higher that the library/framework will stay active 
for a while.

Key point is that you use JsInterop + JS Framework so you do not depend on 
anything of GWT SDK except the compiler. As JsInterop is known to work with 
J2CL you won't have problems switching to J2CL later.

But again, I wouldn't do it now. Before burning money you should have hard 
facts.
