I just migrated to the new gwt 1.6.4. This consists of several gwt applications. One of them resulted normally in 685KB javascript files. After the migration this resulted in 678KB javascript files.
A bit disapointing but also not very suprised as I couldn't use the new event model very well as it's too tight and not suitable to be modified (extended). For example: I my case I need an interceptor on event occurrence and I had to use my own "Handler manager" as the gwt one can't be modified :(... I hope these kind of things will become more open and flexible in the near future.
