Hello,

I am a new GWT developer and am running through the Quick Start
instructions. I created the MyApplication.html "Hello World" type app
per the instructions.

When I run in Hosted Mode I get the server popup Hosted Mode / Port
8080 window with the following in the console pane: "[INFO] Starting
Jetty on port 8080"

When the mini-browser window pops up, it has a title bar of "HTTP 404
Not Found" and the standard "The webpage cannot be found" alert in the
content pane.

I searched these forums and found the recommended etc/hosts file fix
for Windows Vista32. I have edited the file to read:

-----------------------------------------------

# Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host
name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost
#1 localhost

-----------------------------------------------

After rebooting the machine, the above mentioned error still occurs.

I am using:
Eclipse 3.5
GWT 1.7.1
JDK 6

I have run this sample app in hosted mode at work with no problems
(XPpro) same SW setup as above.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
