The widgets are perfect how they are now. They fit perfectly in both
websites and enterprise applications. Besides, a fancy design is not
always a good design. I always use the simple "googlish" style in both
websites and web apps and the customers are very pleased with the results.

Couldn´t agree more.
GWT is great as whole and so flexible, it hurts.
Although, the core widgets could have a better visual appearance to
make them as good as Vaadin's or ext's but without the "desktop
application" appeal.
