I've successfully created an EAR with GWT and glassfish, it wasn't too difficult. I used gilead with hibernate for persistence. The only trick was getting GWT to compile, as my entities are in the EJB, and GWT was in the WAR. I simply made sure the .java files we available to the WAR. I can provide a sample project if needed.
