Hello Alexander, I'm also struggling with this behaviour of UPDATE events being sent even if nothing was actually updated.
The documentation for the WriteOperation class says: UPDATE: An EntityProxy<http://google-web-toolkit.googlecode.com/svn/javadoc/2.3/com/google/web/bindery/requestfactory/shared/EntityProxy.html>has been encountered by the client for the first time, or its version value has changed.
