A shot in the dark here, but have you seen the iOS6 Post Caching issue<https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!searchin/google-web-toolkit/ios6/google-web-toolkit/CWkgCXLi8tA/fpOWNVQ0q3YJ>? If your app was caching an earlier blank response, that could be the issue.
