My suggestion is to use the Esr version of Firefox. 17.0.5 I think is latest.
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all.html They are supposed to be for enterprise to use in place of the rapid releases and should be updated only every 5-6 major firefox versions, so good for months at a time for gwt dev.
