Jim describes the pain point of Google Health API architecture. Even using XPath you have to get the entire chunk or block of Medications.
It may appears is a small thing. However over time with multiple profiles this is becoming a huge block of data to parse. Time add another variable. User profile add another variable. What if I want to combine a specific field from Medication or Immunizations? Then I would have to parse more than one huge data block. It's a technical bottleneck.
