Yep, mail-archive.com's software has been upgraded again.
It's a fairly significant revision to the sort engine that
* adds much better abstraction in the matching code
* shortens the sort code by ~100 lines (~20%)
* works smarter at getting new lists right
* won't bog down if there is a huge mail queue
* throws out unarchivable mail earlier
* eliminates temp files; uses variables instead
* eliminates unused feature: -generous
* fixes the long standing "same letter sent to two lists" bug,
with a small performance penalty incurred
Well, I'm psyched to have a zero length bug list. And the code is a
lot smaller and cleaner. This is probably the last significant
revision of the sort engine.
In other news, some spammer hit a bunch of lists. Noting the
particular lists hit, he/she was using a legacy harvest. I submitted
abuse complaints, but apparently the company has already been
blackholed.
Finally, I am moving to Calfornia tuesday.
Cheers,
Jeff
