translated into English it means Telstra was able to shaft it's customers for 
longer due to their monopoly abuse. 

I don't think the words "Telstra" and "performance" should be used in the same 
sentence unless clarified by adjectives like "abysmal".

Broadband revenue increased because legislators fail to pull their fingers out 
their rectum and leave Telstra free to rape and pillage the competition which 
still largely is at Telstra's mercy for infrastructure use. Retail sales 
improved largely due to misleading advertising, leading to a deluge of 
complaints with the ombudsman and are unlikely to be sustainable

Mobile revenue increased because of Telstra's move to break the standard GSM 
and introduce a second incompatible system (CDMA) just to prevent competition 
in growth areas.

So both areas where they managed to increase revenue are actually rather bad 
news for consumers, and in an "information age" very bad news for a country 
as a whole.
