One safety feature I would like to see is the ability for a doctor to be
able to make a particular appointment so that it can't be cancelled
without the doctor being aware of it. I see this being important for a
patient who has some important results that have come back that must be
communicated to the patient at that appointment. Often, when such
results come in, I will search the appointment history (the ability to
do this is a must) for that patient. If they have a planned review
appointment, then it would be great to be able to make that appointment
so it can't be cancelled without me knowing, so that I can then ask the
patient to rebook as there are important results that must be
communicated. If the patient cancels an important review, I am concerned
about medico-legal consequences in this day and age of patient hand-holding.
