Joe,

that was very helpful. Instead of diving into Terminal test and fixes, I'd 
rather suggest you have a look at our website. Especially the "Projects" 
section: http://www.gpgtools.org/projects.html

Have a look at each individual project and try to understand what it is that 
each component does. When you did that why don't you give the GPGTools 
Installer a try. Then report back if you still encounter any issues, ok?
