Can you upgrade the OS on that disk to 10.6? Or if you are not interested to do that, can you boot your computer using that back up disk as the start up disk? > I have an > old version of GPG Keychain access on that disk but it won't export > secret keys; only public keys. GPG Keychain Access 0.7.0 has a mandatory built-in security feature that allows to export only 'Key Info' of a secret key, but it can export secret keys *through its interface with Terminal*, where you have to type the required commands that will allow to export also secret keys. Menu/Key>Edit Key..., that will launch Terminal. By the way, GPG Keychain Access 0.7.0 still works under MacOSX 10.6, with limitations, e.g. its key generating process does not conform to the current GnuPG software. The current GPG Keychain Access can export also secret keys, only if you select that option during the export process. It is also a built-in security feature. Exporting secret keys is a "risky" operation, where all possible safeguards must be applied. > The version of GPG Keychain now in > use won't work on OS 10.4. See above. If you can boot your computer using that backup disk as start up disk, you can export the secring.gpg that's in it. I would suggest to export the "old" secring.gpg to a memory stick, that you could hook up to your computer, after you boot it back to his built-in disk, and proceed from there with GPG Keychain Access 0.8.7 > > Is there a version that will, and will export the secret key? > > Or can I bring that file over onto a disk with 10.6 to access the > keys?
