I recently had a problem (after installing gPodder on a fresh 32 bit hardy
install) where my podcasts would not sync to my iPod. After a little
frustration, I discovered the problem was that I needed to install the package
python-gpod.
Some less persistent then me might not have figured this out. Either packing
this in as a dependency, or even displaying a message indicating it's missing
would be great. Right now you click sync and nothing happens.
