Doesn't gpodder already do this, more or less? Every episode has a description associated with it, and if you place your mouse over the episode, a text box comes up with the total description. I guess that the descriptions are currently not searchable, though.
I don't know whether it would be worthwhile. First of all, you're at the mercy of whoever provides the podcast and its associated description. For instance, some channels may simply have 'Program XYZ, episode for this-and-that date', so even a search function does not improve your life as far as content is concerned. Then again, if you want to implement a search function (or can find someone to do it for you), I'd say: 'why not?' :-)). Beware of double work, though - most podcasts come from websites which commonly feature a searchable archive :-)).
