Can you please run gPodder in gdb and provide a backtrace of the
segfault? This means running "bin/gpodder --local" with gdb (gdb
bin/gpodder --local), then "run" and then reproduce the segfault, and
enter "bt" in gdb. Send the output of this command to this list.

Did it work with the older version of libmtp? Can you try installing
libmtp from Ubunut 8.04 and see if this fixes your problem (i.e. the
version in 8.10 is "too new" to work correctly with pymtp at the
moment).
