I tried to comment the notify-osd detection and used notify-osd the last
two weeks now with gPodder.
I really can't understand the problem with this notification system. Yes
the notifications are placed on the right top of the screen and there
are no action on the notifications, but it fits into the ubuntu desktop
and a lot of other programs also use notify-osd.

What's the general opinion on the mailinglist on this issue?
