It sounds then like you want some better behavior about how gpsd finds
and sends to these non-gpsd-created control sockets.  That was not clear
to me from your previous mail.

When you read the sources to find out how it's controlled now, what did
you find?

The point is to get a long-term fix and have the packaging systems
change, if that makes sense.
