IMHO, as long as gpsd needs root to fully function, as documented, it
needs to warn when expected functionality does not work.

The message is there because users expected that gpsd to drop to user
nobody when run as a user.

So maybe this message could be rplaced with:

"ERROR: gpsd needs to be run as root you fool>".
