No, but I believe GRUB decompresses multiboot module. Looks like the ramdisk is totally "corrupted" from Solaris' point of view when loaded via gPXE. Can you decompress the the boot archive manually and then try booting it via gPXE again? Perhaps file(1) can confirm what type of compression this is but gunzip should be a good bet to try.
